A soundscape for the lighting project 'Janslicht', designed by Atelier LEK for the community of Utrecht.
This project is part of 'Trajectum Lumen', a permanent tour along a couple of light art installations in the centre of Utrecht.

The lighting design of Atelier LEK revolves around two themes: to accentuate the diverse architectural history of the church and to amaze passengers with the properties of light. They also wanted to invite passengers to play with these properties. They asked me to compose a soundscape that fits the historical character of the church and the surrounding square, while also invoking the right mood for the light experience.
I chose to compose a minimalistic, almost meditative soundscape that subtly draws the passengers' attention to the lightshow and also accompanies him during the experience. I made it sound harmonic in order to get a sweet and charming sound.

The installation can be experienced every half hour, from dusk till midnight.
